Stone Layer board game – Henmar Games
Players build on six shared stacks with stones of different sizes and shapes. On their turn, a player chooses a stone tile and selects one stone. The active player tries to place the chosen stone on top of the designated stack without toppling it. If the stack collapses, the other players who contributed stones to that stack score points.

Stone Layer takes place along beautiful riverbanks, where you feel like a true stacking artist. In the game, you are one of up to 4 builders. On your turn, you choose a tile that shows: a) a set of stones, from which you may choose one to build, and b) the number of steps to move the marker token. You place your stone on top of the stack, then move the marker token. The spot where you place it determines where the next player must build. After that, you add a token in your own color to the stack where you just built.
If you fail to place the chosen stone and the stack falls, all other players who have built in that tower score points—except the one who made it collapse.
The first player to reach 10 points wins.

The game is inspired by the Japanese art of stone stacking, such as Suikesi, where the shape and color of the stone reflect aesthetic and spiritual values, and the more grounded tobi-ishi, where the placement of stones refers to stepping stones in gardens. While this theme is not integrated into the gameplay, it was considered during development.

It is a beautifully produced family game. Officially for ages 10 and up, but easy enough to play from age 8, as long as you have a steady hand.
