Playing cards

Playing cards come in various types and sizes. Regionally, there are numerous variations of card games such as Skat, Bridge, Black Jack, Poker, etc., to name just a few.

Bridge and poker cards may look very similar at first glance, but there is an important difference in size.

Bridge cards are narrower, with a standard width of approximately 57 mm. This narrower format is no coincidence: in bridge, each player is dealt 13 cards. By making the cards narrower, players can hold them more easily and maintain a clear overview without their hand becoming too wide.

Poker cards are wider, with a standard width of approximately 63 mm. This larger format makes the cards more visible on the table, which is important in poker games where cards are often placed face up and need to be seen by multiple players. Additionally, the “indices” (symbols and numbers) on poker cards are often slightly larger, further improving readability.

In summary:

  • Bridge cards (57 mm) → narrower, ideal for holding many cards
  • Poker cards (63 mm) → wider, better visible on the table

The difference in size is therefore mainly tailored to the way the games are played.

Furthermore, HOT, as a wholesaler, also offers related accessories in addition to card games, such as card shufflers, dealing shoes, and card holders.
